It’s like:

Do you ever without realizing it assign a certain look or voice to a character in a book? And then the movie comes out and you just don’t like the actor they picked at all? And it’s almost like you don’t even know who you would want to play the part you just know that that person was not it.

Read the book that has been sitting on your shelf for an eternity. Get up to watch the sunrise every once in a while. Set an alarm that reminds you to make your favorite tea every evening. Save up for a nice set of speakers for the music that is worth listening to. Keep your room clean. Open the windows. Light candles at night. Go outside in the darkness and listen to the wind in the trees. Breathe.

don’t say you’re a writer if you just write fanfiction for your entertainment. you’re only a writer if you kill a bear with a typewriter to appease the spirit of hemingway and slather yourself in ink in tribute to shakespeare, the one true over-penis of literature.

As a paid writer, I can confirm all of this.

delladilly:

here is some stuff i am tired of in my young adult lit:

  • our heroine tires of silly useless femme girls
  • also those girls are probably bitches
  • thoughtful/taciturn fathers and emotional/babbling mother
  • everyone is an only child unless they have an annoying little brother

Sorry for the lack in posts. School has been taking up all of my time.
